A Munich-style Helles brewed to Bock strength, our version of this German Spring-to-Summer lager blends Pilnser and Munich malts with Maris Otter and a pinch of Double Roast Crystal to lay a sweet, lightly toasty malt foundation that’s then balanced with a sprinkling of Tettnang hops.
Deep gold in colour, aromas of fruity, fresh malted barley accented with newly-mown grass carry through to boiled sweets and subtle cake spice notes on the palate. For a relatively big beer it’s easy to drink, with low to moderate bitterness and a crisp finish. Pair with smoked ham or a huge plate of pork knuckle and dream of Alpine sunshine…
